Cautions on use

You can do only top-rope climbing at Gotenshita. There are always six ropes hanging on the wall, so you do not have to bring your own rope.

Terms of use

• Please use the wall at your own risk.
• Solo climbing is prohibited.
• When you use the wall, please untie the ropes from a ladder before climbing, and revert it after usage.
• Please fix a kink in the ropes before climbing.
• You MUST not pull out the rope from the belay anchor. If, by any chance, you do it or there is any trouble in the ropes, please confirm staff at Gotenshita or climbing wall committee.
• When climber gets down, please choose lower or rappel.
• Lead climbing is prohibited.
• Free solo climbing is prohibited.
• When you do aid climbing, do not use devices that may damage the wall.
• Do not use crampons.

Eligibility for usage

A person who falls under any of the following conditions.

1. A person who has attended a climbing orientation and obtained a certification card.
2. A person who is a member of the certified organizations of the climbing wall committee.
3. A person who accompanied by someone who meets conditions 1 or 2.

Usage procedure

1. Enter Gotenshita.
2. Please fill a form (クライミング利用者表兼・倉庫01番鍵貸出表; The List of Climbing Wall Users and the Lending Table of the Key to the Warehouse No.01) at the front desk.
3. Please consign TWO certification cards to the staff and borrow the key to the warehouse.
4. If you need a harness and belay device, please open the warehouse No.01 just beside the wall. Those are available for free, but make sure you revert them after usage. If you need climbing shoes, please go upstairs and ask the staff in a training room. You can rent climbing shoes out at 200 yen per 4 hours.
5. After climbing, please revert all devices, lock the warehouse No.01, and return the key to the front desk of Gotenshita.

If someone is using the wall

You do not have to borrow the key. The other procedures are the same as the above.

If the user who acquired the key has to go back

1. Please hand over the key to a representative of a group that keeps climbing and borrow his/her certification card.
2. Please inform the staff at the front desk that you handed over the key, leave the certification card to the team, fill the form, and pick up your certification card.
